I am pleased to report that James Harrington of our office recently resolved a matter in the Mohegan Tribal Court for $775,000.00. James’ client was a passenger in a limousine owned and operated by the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority which was transporting him and his companions from Mohegan Sun to their homes in Fairfield County.
While traveling on Interstate 95 in Norwalk, the limousine rear ended another vehicle which had come to a stop due to traffic conditions. The force of the impact was such that the vehicle struck by the limousine was propelled forward coming to rest partially on top of a jersey barrier. James’ client, along with his party, were also propelled forward within the cabin of the limousine. As a consequence, the client sustained an injury to his lumbar spine, ultimately requiring three surgical procedures. James filed a lawsuit in the Mohegan Gaming Disputes Court where he is admitted. At a pretrial before the Honorable Jeffrey McNamara, the case was settled for $775,000.00. The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority was represented by Attorney Robert Rhodes of Halloran & Sage.
